Welcome to my corner of the work

Studying the Book.
Building the work.

Personal updates, plain Bible teaching, and a look behind the scenes at the ministries God has allowed me to serve.

Pull up a chair.

This is where I share what I am studying, what I am building, and where the ministry work stands.

The Institute is taking shape

The work has moved well beyond a collection of lessons. Courses are being organized, correspondence materials are being prepared, and the teaching library continues to grow. There is still plenty to do—but now we can see the road.

RIBS progress

Redneck Institute of Biblical Studies

Explore the Institute →

The Institute exists to help ordinary Bible believers become careful workmen. We read the words, investigate the evidence, build the conclusion, and submit to what God said.

The Institute uses a level system. BIB 100–104 makes up Level 1, with more lecture hours than an average semester in a traditional semester system.

Read

Begin with the words on the page.

Investigate

Follow context, comparison, and distinctions.

Build

Let the evidence produce the conclusion.

Submit

Live under the authority of the Book.

WeeklyBible Study

A short study for the week

Do not skip the little words.

Ephesians 2:11–13

Words such as then, but now, we, and ye are not decorations. They tell us who is speaking, who is being addressed, and when the truth applies. Sometimes the smallest words guard us from the biggest mistakes.

Before we explain the verse, we ought to notice what God actually said.

About this site

Ministry is rarely one neat little box.

I am a retired pastor and nurse, a Bible teacher, and the founder of the Redneck Institute of Biblical Studies. I work with Bible Believers Church, Hope for Felons, correspondence courses, podcasts, and whatever else I manage to get myself into. This site is where those threads come together.
