I am a retired pastor and nurse, a Bible teacher, and the founder of the Redneck Institute of Biblical Studies. The titles have changed through the years. The calling to study, teach, and serve has not.

Start with the story

Written in 2007 while I was still pastoring.

The road has changed. The purpose has not.

The road so far

Ministry is rarely one neat little box.

I have spent much of my life caring for people—sometimes from a pulpit, sometimes as a nurse, sometimes across a table with an open Bible. Those settings may look different, but the work has always involved people, truth, and the next faithful step.

Retirement did not mean that the work stopped. It simply changed the shape of the work. Today that includes Bible courses, correspondence lessons, weekly studies, podcasts, broadcasts, church ministry, and more projects than I probably ought to have going at one time.

Whatever the setting, I want to help ordinary people open the King James Bible, notice what God said, and gain the confidence to study it for themselves.

My Personal Credo

The word of God is the authority.

I believe that the word of God is the ultimate authority for faith and Christian living. Its doctrines are understood by those who have come to saving faith in Jesus Christ and who diligently study the Scriptures. Sharing the gospel with the lost should be a natural outpouring of the blessings received in the Christian life.

My Personal Mission

Preach the gospel. Teach the Book.

My mission is to share the gospel with the lost, preach the message of the gospel of God from the Scriptures, and teach the body of Christ from the word of God.

My Personal Vision

Keep growing. Keep making disciples.

My vision is to continue to grow in the grace of my Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ while following His commission to make disciples wherever He chooses for me to do so.

How I approach the Book

Let the evidence produce the conclusion.

01Every word matters.
Little words, pronouns, and time words are not decorations.
02Observation comes first.
Before explaining a verse, notice what God actually said.
03Distinctions must stand.
Where God makes a distinction, the workman must recognize it.
04Conclusion comes last.
We do not make the Bible prove our conclusion. We let the Bible produce it.

This is ministry from the heart, not for the wallet. I do not solicit donations. The purpose is to make sound Bible teaching available and useful wherever God opens a door.
